Macy's & Clothes4Souls Receive Honors at 2016 Cause Marketing Halo Awards

(Chicago, IL) – Macy’s and Clothes4Souls, a division of the not for profit Soles4Souls, was honored with a Silver Cause Marketing Halo Award in the “Best Transactional Campaign” Category at the 14th Annual Cause Marketing Forum Conference on June 2 in Chicago. A total of 20 awards were given out to programs judged to be the best at doing well by doing good in 2014.


Macy’s, through its 2015 “Buy 1 & We’ll Give 1” campaign, donated 50,000 coats nationwide to Clothes4Souls, a division of Soles4Souls Inc. Macy’s donated one new, never worn coat for every coat purchased in-store and online from Oct. 27 – Nov. 2. Working in partnership with local charities and service organizations in a number of cities across the U.S., Clothes4Souls distributed the much-needed cold weather clothing to needy men, women and children throughout the season. This is the third year of the partnership between Macy’s and Clothes4Souls, resulting in 130,000 coats distributed nationwide.

“We congratulate Macy’s and Clothes4Souls on its efforts to do well by doing good,” said Cause Marketing Forum President David Hessekiel. Over one hundred programs were entered in this year’s Cause Marketing Halo Award competition.

“Gone are the days when adding a charitable angle to a consumer- or employee facing initiative was new and novel,” said Hessekiel. “Buy 1 & We’ll Give 1” campaign is being recognized for going beyond the basics to offer a unique partnership able to draw attention and engagement.”

Macy’s and their customers understand the power they have to make a difference and we couldn’t be happier to be a partner in this work.”
