Social Impact Internship

Soles4Souls turns unwanted shoes and clothing into opportunity by keeping them from going to waste and putting them to good use: providing relief, creating jobs and empowering people to break the cycle of poverty. We focus on two main program areas to fulfill our mission:

  • Free Distribution – We distribute new shoes and clothing, donated by our corporate partners, to people in need in the US and around the world.
  • Micro-enterprise – We help hard-working entrepreneurs build their own small businesses selling donated shoes and clothing.

How we measure the impact of these efforts is increasingly important to our organization’s accountability to those we’re serving and those who make this opportunity possible – our donors/volunteers.

As our social impact intern, you will work directly with our VP of Strategic Initiatives and Impact. This is a cross-functional space, so there will be ample opportunity to work with our operations, marketing & communications, and business development teams, as well.

Some of the areas/projects you may find yourself contributing towards include:

  1. Advancing our social impact strategy
  2. Developing our annual social impact report
  3. Creating new research methodologies and improving existing ones
  4. Researching third-party data
  5. Identifying best practices for measurement tools, social impact and community/international/sustainable development

It is worth noting that, stylistically, we approach our social impact strategy balancing our Soles4Souls business model with applied industry and academic standards.

Our promise to you is to find the intersection between what skills and passions you bring to our team and what our organization needs to advance our mission. We are committed to making this a beneficial experience to your personal and career development.
