Dr. Bernard Turner

Associate Professor & Director / Center for Social Entrepreneurship at Belmont University

Dr. Turner has 35 years of diversified work experience with over 20 years in the nonprofit sector. He has worked for Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University in various fundraising and administrative/management positions. He has nearly 25 years of experience writing and reviewing grants. In his positions within the nonprofit sector, he has personally raised over $40 million in grants for numerous initiatives. He is a frequent grant reviewer for the Baptist Healing Trust, the National AIDS Fund (now AIDS United), and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He also has extensive experience training, consulting, and volunteering with nonprofit organizations and conducts various grant writing workshops for the Center for Nonprofit Management in Nashville.
