Ada Dolan Collects 25,000 Pairs of Shoes for Soles4Souls

In 2020, Ada Dolan, Creator of Grüvy Shoes, was inspired to start a 25,000 shoe drive for Soles4Souls after having a huge turn out at a community shoe drive. Now, a couple of years later, Ada has hit her goal! 

Reaching a huge goal like this is no small feat. Ada recalls the most rewarding thing about the shoe drive was, “Meeting so many generous and kind people from all age groups and all walks of life. There truly are so many amazing people in this community.” 

As you can imagine, a shoe drive this large comes with some challenges. A few thousand shoes into Ada’s drive, she was faced with her biggest challenge. Her basement was running out of room to store the shoes. Luckily, a local family donated space at their storage unit for the shoes. This is a perfect example of the generosity she experienced during the drive. 

When asked what advice she has for someone else starting a huge drive, she said, “You have to be passionate about the cause before you start. It’s not easy but it’s very rewarding. It also does not happen overnight so you have to be patient and see it through.”

Even after collecting 25,000 shoes, Ada is continuing to support Soles4Souls. She will be donating a percentage of sales from her shoe line, Grüvy Shoes, to Soles4Souls. Grüvy Shoes makes interchangeable sandals for girls and women. Check out Grüvy Shoes here.
